CRISPE Bus in a 4th of July Parade - Salt Lake City, UtahThousands of families in Salt Lake City welcome the CRISPE Bus in a three mile 4th of July parade
Maybe it was the kids thinking it was the Barney Bus or they loved the idea of sharing parents equally. What ever the case, there was a lot of cheering and clapping going on as the big purple bus rolled down in the parade. Moms, dads, grandparents, and children were all cheering and clapping. We ended the parade in a park where hundreds of people came by to inquire about the big purple bus and equal shared parenting. Many people expressed their frustrations with the family courts, and the role played by the US Health and Human Services Department's Title IV-D program. They have been through it themselves, have a family member going through it, or know a friend. The main theme is that they believe the courts are destroying families and harming the children the court says it is there to protect. We passed out various education materials about the solution of shared parenting. Many people don’t feel they could change this corrupt family destructive system, but today many felt empowered to make a difference. Many committed to their children that they will fight to change this unjust system that is destroying our childrens' futures and our families. |
