This entire DC Festival 2008 information can be best viewed online, at http://unitedcivilrights.org/DCFestival2008.html.

Much or all of the following info will probably also be available on http://DCFestival2008.com within the next 24-48 hours. If you manage a website or blogsite or similar, we would ask that you please include the same somewhere on yours. Ty.

----------------------------------------------------------

Note: A few large orgs are involved now. Plans include hooking up with WTP and other orgs who will also just happen to be there in DC, at the same time... Next conf calls are Sat's, Sun's and Wed's at 8pm Eastern: http://talkshoe.com/tc/43507

----------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------

The below is divided between: Event Summary Places to Stay Ridesharing Spread the Word

----------------------------------------------------------

Event Summary:

August 15th & 16th (Fri/Sat), downtown Washington, DC, at the Capitol Hill area ("on Capitol Hill"..). There are four (4) different categories of events all going on throughout both days, i.e., a true "festival" of events:

(1) The main Festival activities, including the live music, most speakers, some of the ceremonies, and etc., will be held on center sound stage in Upper Senate Park, directly across Constitution Avenue from the Capitol Building. Upper Senate Park is a five-sided block that can easily hold several thousand people, and has plenty of manicured trees and grass, several sidewalks, a marble sculpture fountain plaza for our center stage area, and fantastic views in every direction. If you click once "UP" on this cool 3D map, Upper Senate Park is the five sided trees/grass block across from the Capitol Building to "the left/up", i.e., across Constitution Ave, also seen as a downtown aerial marking several important buildings nearby, and a zoomed aerial of the Park itself, which also shows just behind, to the left across the street, the Main Event Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, where the DC Festival 2008 meeting/training rooms will be located.

(2) Scattered throughout Upper Senate Park during the same both days, will be the organizational booths/tables (low $200 each, contact Lary Holland at dcevents@familycourtreports.com), facepainting and balloons for the kids (or you? lol), at least three physical Festival Information Center locations setup inside the Park (i.e., stations with displayed area maps, schedules, directions, flyers, etc. for the public to know where to go, what to do, etc.), and other activities to be developed for all visitors and attendees. If you have ideas, please get them in to either Lary Holland or myself... asap.

(3) Other general Festival events include: WeThePeople will already be there on the National Mall, MediaRADAR is hitting up Congress over VAWA, Fathers-4-Justice is leading an all-org Justice March throughout Capitol Hill, NANCM is leading a large and very public Candlelight Vigil at the Lincoln Memorial, and there will surely be more added soon!

(4) At least three Meeting Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill will include two dedicated Meeting Rooms for various training purposes, with seminars held every 60 or 90 minutes, all-day on both Friday and Saturday. An additional Room will be used for rotating purposes, including scheduled book signings (Dr. Baskerville, Dr. Baker, etc.), registered slots for people to sit with licensed Attorneys for free private legal consultations, periods for open organizational merchandising, and also showings of important videos, such as "A View For The Bench", "Support: System Down", "Jake's Closet", "A Father's Right", "Freedom to Fascism", and so forth... A fourth (4th) Meeting Room may be added soon to increase overall availability, and for even more functionality. For especially the training seminars and video showings, printed "vouchers" or "tickets" will be available for pickup by interested people, at several different spots located within the Upper Senate Park festival area. This is to maintain the audience maximum limits per Meeting Room.

----------------------------------------------------------

Places to Stay:

A wide variety of identified options, both in price and amenities, are available for overnight accomodations, including hotels, hostels, campgrounds, and even log cabins. People can stay near DC for LESS THAN $1.00/person/night!!!

There are five (5) hotels within immediate walking distance from Upper Senate Park, represented by the five red balloons shown just North of the one really big red balloon for the Capitol Building, on a map here. You can also stay at most other hotels in the DC area, and ride the Metro from your hotel right to Union Station, one block North of Upper Senate Park.

These closest five (5) hotels are (numbered/ID'd as on the same above linked map for reference):

# 71 -- Hyatt Regency Washington Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington DC, 20001. Best price for all three nites [Thu in, Sun out] for two double beds, two adults = $333 + taxes. The Meeting Room events are at this hotel.

# 29 -- The Liaison Capitol Hill (used to be Holiday Inn Washington - On The Hill), 415 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington DC, 20001. Best price for all three nites [Thu in, Sun out] for two double beds, two adults = $408 + taxes. Modern rooms, 32" flatscreen TVs, etc. "Book in advance and save."

# 13 -- Phoenix Park Hotel DC Capitol Hill, 520 North Capitol Street NW, Washington DC, 20001. Best price for all three nites [Thu in, Sun out] for two double beds, two adults = $467 + taxes. Big plush rooms, 32" HD TVs, terry cloth bathrobes, etc. "Advance Promotion -- Save 15% on your nightly rate. Book by July 7, 2008."

# 34 -- The Hotel George, 15 E Street NW, Washington DC, 20001. Best price for any one night, for two queen beds, two adults = $175/night + taxes. All rooms non-smoking. Incredible 350 sq. ft. rooms, granite desk, bar, marble bathroom, Italian hygiene products, etc. "Stay 3 nights and save 20%."

# 49 -- Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington DC, 20001. Best price for any one night, for two queen beds, two adults = $176/night + taxes. Kids eat free. Again, huge spacious rooms, marble, Italian stuff, etc.

However, there are over 100 other hotels in the downtown DC area, providing many, many options as shown on this map:
http://www.visitingdc.com/hotel-map/washington-dc-hotel-map.htm
and with the DC MetroRail & MetroBus systems, getting from anywhere in DC, on down to the Festival is a breeze:
http://www.wmata.com/maps/maps.cfm

CHEAP SLEEP / NIGHT:

Courtesy of the Ron Paul camp, we have over two dozen places in or near downtown DC for **CHEAP SLEEP**, such as hostels, RV parks, local churches, and several other options for dirt cheap sleepovers, some with really nice amenities:
http://revolutionmarch.com/cheapsleep.aspx

And, within the Prince William Forest Park, about 30 miles South of downtown Washington DC, are two campgrounds:

Turkey Run Ridge group campground. Campsite capacity ranges from 25 to 40 persons. Each campsite costs $40/night (that covers the whole group!). http://www.nps.gov/archive/prwi/TRRCG.htm

Camp Mawavi group log cabin campground. Each of five (5) clusters of log cabins [each campsite] rents out for an entire group/night, with the cost/person at about 50 cents... Campsites for approx 75 persons (total = $175/night) and for approx 150 persons (total = $315/night). http://www.nps.gov/prwi/planyourvisit/group-cabin-camping.htm

Stay tuned to http://dcfestival2008.com for more options as they are added online!

----------------------------------------------------------

Ridesharing:

Within a 500 mile radius, 4 people in an economy car (30 mpg), or 6 people in a minivan (20 mpg), can ride to DC and back for about $35-40/person, at $4.50/gallon calculated for gasoline prices... or, $30-35/person, at $4.00/gallon... At a 1000 radius out, simply double those costs, plus add for one night at a Motel 6 or something, along the way and back:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/images/drive2DCmap.gif

Together with building additional "pulsed" MEDIA EVENTS spiraling into DC during the same few days before, at different "meetup" cities, this webpage provides all details on driving to Washington DC from anywhere in the Eastern 2/3 of the USA, with links and further information on how people can hook up with others for caravans and rideshares:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/drive2DCrally.html

People in some States are trying to work on buses, or even have bus information available now. Most people from the West Coast are probably looking to fly in, but it seems there are a few who are planning on driving across the country.

But, the bottom line is that everyone, everywhere, needs to arrange rides on a common, "no org", open system of state and county groups. Please encourage everyone to join at least their own UCRCoA State Yahoo Group provided here:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/statechapters.html
and don't forget the clusters of 10 and 20 activists that are out there on so many UCRCoA County Yahoo Groups:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/localgroups.html

Another possible option, although mostly geared for individual travel, is http://www.erideshare.com

----------------------------------------------------------

Spread the Word:

There are actually seven (7) events in total, explained by the UCRCoA official support letter for DC Festival 2008:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/members/DCFestival/UCRCoA-Support2DCFestival2008.pdf

These include -- the CRISPE Bus soon to begin traveling and stopping across the USA on its way to DC Festival 2008; the current July 4th local events; the upcoming Parent's Day (July 27th) proclamations and rallies; the Equal Parenting Bike Trek; the gala mega spectacular DC Festival 2008 itself; and the Democratic and Republican national conventions shortly after, in Denver and the Twin Cities. Of course, there are many events at State levels in the meantime, and supporting all of these many goals, the eComm/eBlitz team(s) are being strongly encouraged to wrap up soon, and launch across America.

This spreadsheet shows the largest [family rights types] Yahoo! Groups for all 50 States:
http://www.editgrid.com/user/indianacrc/nfdr SO MAKE CONTACT TODAY WITH THEM!

Also, don't forget everyone out there on MySpace, Facebook, Tagged, and etc., etc., the Family Reformers Frappr Map, and etc.

Here's over 60,000 people.. Make contact and tell them, also... http://www.editgrid.com/user/indianacrc/contactlinks

Anyone can quickly learn how to use the Internet to find tons and tons of activists right in their own backyard:
http://unitedcivilrights.org/members/UCRCoA-How2FindLocalActivists.pdf

----------------------------------------------------------

Sooo... WHAT are you waiting on? Get started, right now!

----------------------------------------------------------

### END ###

Bringing so many groups together isn’t an easy task. We are doing it. “Write to Parent” is an organization that understands
the importance of parenthood and was formed specifically for the task
of creating a successful 2008 DC Festival that focuses on the simple
issue “Parenthood." Don't let legislators beat your organization to the event!

Together we can take stronger messages to Washington DC and our State Capitols. The time for talking amongst the choir has passed, and we must deliver our messages through united efforts to decision makers.

If you send us your logo via email at
dcevents@familycourtreports.com it will be added here. Be sure to send
us your letter of support to demonstrate that your organization
believes in making a National event out of our collective issues and
messages.

Get your letter of
support of this national civil rights event faxed whether you are an
individual, organization, agency, or association. Support letters
should be faxed to 989-764-5920 or emailed with a PDF attachment to
dcevents@familycourtreports.com. Address them to “Write to Parent” 5119
Highland Rd. #229 Waterford, MI 48327. Include your endorsement as well
as the focus of your organization. 1-2 pages. These will be delivered
with our national messages to all of Congress.

Thu Jul 24, 2008 7:57 pm (PDT)
From the Parental Alienation Awareness Caucus: Nation's Capital to Host National Civil Rights Event August 15-16

There is a whole program that has been put together regarding Parental Alienation as just one of the many events associated with this years DCFESTIVAL2008.COM National Civil Rights Event.

Check out the information and official press release at the above link. If any of the State participants are concerned with Parental Alienation, you can circulate this to the appropriate local or national groups. I will leave it up to you for who you send it to.

Check out where your state stands on getting the message to government that parental rights should be respected and PROTECTED. Every state will likely meet their goals, but you can check in on this awesome campaign to raise awareness by clicking the link, getting involved, and MAKING THIS HAPPEN!!! We couldn't possibly do it all without all of your help! The time for talking about it is done!

Lary Holland

P.S. If you have events scheduled in your state you need to get them to me

DC Festival 2008 now *Featured* on mainstream website
Posted by: "UCRCoA Freedom News" indianacrc@earthlink.net   indianacrc
Mon Jul 28, 2008 2:22 pm (PDT)
We just got BLESSED, people.. big time!

http://www.EditGrid.com is a very popular, mainstream online collaboration tool to share and work on spreadsheets and other types of documents, in a "Web 2.0" environment. Very techie, but important = very popular. Fortune Top 100, etc.

This morning, I received a "Congrats" email in my Inbox, letting us know that the DC Festival 2008 Master Schedule spreadsheet just became now a top Featured Spreadsheet on their WIDE and POPULAR system:
http://www.editgrid.com/site/learn/featured_spreadsheets
(too bad they used an OLD "snapshot" of the Master Schedule, from days ago, but whatever!)

They even apparently took the time to see what was going on with our little event, and gave us some advertisement language about "divorced parents" and "rights", "contains related information... the event", etc.

This TREMENDOUS SUCCESS is due, DIRECTLY, to the many people within the overall family rights movement who have realized that THIS is our big national "party" for the year, and with the elections, and the "party" invitations going out to numerous DC area clergy, government social and family policy planners and decision-makers, and politicians, as well as to many, many local DC area nonprofit associations and organizations, the informed people in our movement now know this event HAS to be supported and etc.

Thanks!

Last Info Blast for all DC Festival people!
Posted by: "UCRCoA Freedom News" indianacrc@earthlink.net   indianacrc
Sat Aug 9, 2008 4:42 pm (PDT)
Please widely repost, so that all people may have the chance to get involved and tell their story to the public, too.

----------------------------------------------------------

LIVE Internet Radio Show on all the below, Saturday at 8pm-10pm Eastern, and Sunday 8pm-9pm Eastern, at
http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/43507, or call (724) 444-7444, show number "43507" + "#", and user code "1" + "#"

----------------------------------------------------------

Greetings. In less than 60 days, and by working together, we have successfully pulled together many people and organizations to gather on August 15th and 16th, in Washington, DC, the thinking and resource and power capital of not only this Nation, but of the entire free world.. The numerous potentials for connections and results are vast, there in DC.

Our combined mission: To firmly implant our family and parental rights messages squarely into the social, educational, public and political spheres of discussion and influence that are saturated throughout the "Beltway Area" (DC highway loops, surrounding areas, etc.). Our combined goal: To involve as many organizations, activists, leaders, nonprofits, bands, musicians, and other entertainers, politicians, business captains, and as much of the public as possible, to force a new hot topic of discussion, and therefore, action implemented, regarding our same family and parental rights to our children. To influence all aspects of government involvement with family, by instilling truth and education into the arena.

FESTIVAL NEEDS - PLEASE LOOK AND BE INVOLVED.
OUR MOVEMENT *DESPERATELY* NEEDS YOU NOW!

1. Grounds fun activities. We need more clowns, facepainters, balloon twisters, artists, and etc. Please email Tammy Heaberlin at tammyheaberlin@yahoo.com and/or check the appropriate places on this form http://tinyurl.com/5o8pbh right away. Thanks!

2. More Speakers. When we switched from linear to simultaneous tracks, that opened a lot more time for speaking. We have added lots, but still need a few more speakers to speak their hearts and knowledge about the issues of importance. Please look at the Master Schedule here, see where YOU belong in speaking (which category), and email directly to Torm Howse at indianacrc@earthlink.net for immediate inclusion onto the Master Schedule.

3. Indoor Hosts. There are several INDOOR seminars, films, and other presentations that still need one (or more) people to volunteer to host for our audiences (link to Master Schedule:)
http://www.editgrid.com/user/indianacrc/DCFestival2008

Friday -- FERPA/HIPPA rights for Parents to records (need 2-3 hosts, 12pm-1:30pm)
Friday -- "Evelyn", custody battle movie starring Pierce Brosnan (1 host needed, 12:50pm-2:40pm)
Friday -- MoveAways & Visitation Interference: Solutions Open Summit (need 2-3 hosts, 1:30pm-3pm)
Friday -- "Rosa Parks", video collage on mother of civil rights (1 host needed, 2:40pm-3:10pm)
Friday -- "Title IV-E: Fostering the Adoption of Family-Friendly Policies" (need 2-3 people, 4pm-5pm)

Friday -- one more 90 minute slot available for any appropriate presentation on family/parents/children, from 5:40pm until 7:10pm, in the Glacier meeting room, with video LCD and screen system available for large multimedia as needed.

Saturday -- "Evelyn", custody battle movie starring Pierce Brosnan (1 host needed, 11:40pm-1:30pm)
Saturday -- "Rosa Parks", video collage on mother of civil rights (1 host needed, 3:00pm-3:30pm)
Saturday -- "Freedom To Fascism", movie from Aaron Russo (1 host needed, 3:30pm-5:30pm)

Please email Torm Howse at indianacrc@earthlink.net and/or check the appropriate places on this form http://tinyurl.com/5o8pbh right away, for immediate inclusion as Host(s) for your desired indoor event, listed onto the Master Schedule today. Thanks!

If you would like to assist in one of the other already-planned presentations, please contact those listed-on-Schedule people directly. Thank you.

4. Live Entertainment. We could certainly use a couple/few more bands or singers or other live entertainment. Links to LISTS of local DC musicians, plus copy/paste invitation language, have been provided here http://tinyurl.com/5727ar

5. DC area Nonprofits and Churches. We also could certainly use more of the local DC area nonprofits and churches to come over and get involved and experience the Festival. Same page, links, and copy/paste info as # 4 link above.

6. RIDESHARING and HOTELSHARING. At this last minute, everyone should be joining the UCRCoA State Yahoo! Groups to communicate their final arrangements for ridesharing from a given State and etc., so the quick list of all 50 State such groups is http://indianacrc.org/50stategroups.html, while the "normal" route is to lead people to click their own State on this all-in-one page to each State's group AND state leaders http://unitedcivilrights.org/statechapters.html. Regardless, people everywhere should be hooking together on the UCRCoA State-level groups to get to DC for the best/lowest overall costshares. For general coordination of caravans to planned city media stops, please see this page of timetables, cities, and color-coded routing maps, etc. http://unitedcivilrights.org/drive2DCFestival.html

7. Stuffed Animals to be Donated. As you may know, we are collecting Stuffed Animals, new-in-the-package, to be donated to the Children's Hospital in Washington, DC... hence the requirement for new stuffed animals (hospital, hygiene, sanitary, etc.). We are hoping and planning to have the MEDIA HELP US collect many stuffed animals at each of the city media stops linked and detailed in the routing maps, etc., described above within # 6. Please see the national ridesharing timetables and routing map. Before you leave, be sure to help let Washington DC know that you are coming. There are some unique tools in this short, unscheduled newsletter, that will help you do this for ANY issue that you want.

DC Festival 2008

Great email Chrissy! I had to send this out to all the groups so that people can get the right information. Feel free to reforward as appropriate. It was a pleasure meeting you for the first time in Washington DC. I am cc'ing the sender, sending to the yahoo groups, directly because he may not have seen the numerous emails in the groups. He posts frequently to a bunch of them but doesn't respond frequently. This might help get everyone working on creating the news instead of waiting for the news.
On another note, if you see others post responses like this, it is better to just ask them which media they contacted and to then follow-up with their media they have already contacted. We have to stop waiting for things to happen and start making them happen. The link that everyone that posts to these "yahoo groups" have to start taking action and reporting results. The link below should be quite familiar.
http://www.familycourtreports.com/newsletters/specialannouncements-1.html
We have a ton of work to do before Get Off The Bench on Wednesday Night at 8PM where we will be discussing the DC FESTIVAL 2008 and numerous next steps! This wasn't just an event, it was the initial planning event that demonstrated who works well together and who wants to make things happen. Make sure that all your new contacts you made and met for the first time get connected Wednesday night. I am still processing mountains of contact information for people inside and outside the movement and my phone is ringing of the hook of people that are asking questions about DC FESTIVAL 2008 that didn't learn about it in time.
We have changed the lives of many, with tens of thousands of "The Call" people that now not only just know what we are about, but support what we are about. We have begun the change of history this past weekend. The video that is on the website Chrissy indicated is actually a birthday present that was given to me from a good friend in the DC AREA. What a present to have met so many true reformers! On the way back I spoke to many of the call participants who knew who we were and why we were all there. Truly remarkable footprint. I am done speaking to the choir, lets sell tickets to the grand finally.
Check Book Father has some great pictures:

I met so many people last weekend from musicians, experts, advocates, and very solid standing people. I am humbled to be next to you all.

DC happened in grand style and became a life changing event for me and many others. Pictures are all over and videos are popping up all over. Go to family court reports with lary holland he had the first video up. IT WAS POWERFUL if you couldn't go you have a year to find a way to get there, I know I will.

"I can't seem to find one news article, or any shred of evidence it even
happened ... is there anything up yet, videos, pictures? "

It seems the news media did not report the DC Festival. The question is
why, and what can we do about it, or what changes need to be made?
