Wrongly Deported SoCal Man Sues Government

LOS ANGELES (AP) ¯ A U.S. citizen who was deported to Mexico and spent
85 days wandering the streets of Tijuana will sue the Department of
Homeland Security and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

American Civil Liberties Union officials are unveiling the lawsuit to
be filed Wednesday in federal court on behalf of Pedro Guzman, 30. The
suit claims violation of constitutional rights and seeks unspecified
damages.

Guzman was deported in May after being jailed on a misdemeanor
trespassing charge. He says he told authorities he was born in
California, but immigration and sheriff's officials claim he told them
he was an illegal immigrant.
