WRITE TO SUPPORT JOINT CUSTODY RESOLUTION

Got this request from Guillermo of http://www.crcsandiego.org requesting that we contact our Congressman on getting this resolution passed for joint custody laws. In the past, States have past laws on these resolutions and now we need to get this past to help us get in the door for EQUAL shared parenting laws. Please take a few minutes to cut and paste the letter below and get it sent to your Congressman and Senators. If you don’t know them, there is a link below that will allow you to find them by zip code.

1 THE JOINT CUSTODY RESOLUTION. H. Con. Res. 241. We ask you to please
contact your House member and ask him/her to co-sponsor the Resolution. One
phone call or fax or letter is not enough. You must do this every few
weeks. Reason? They have many items on their plates, and they need
reminders that this Resolution — which asks the states to pass more joint
custody laws — is important to you. Teresa O’Halloren, CRC of Oregon, and
Mike Doherty, CRC of Illinois, are taking the lead in this effort. Please
talk with them or me. Again, House members only. Capitol Hill switchboard
is 202/225-3121.

more joint custody laws. Parents with joint custody pay more child support.
And there is protection in the resolution for victims of violence and abuse.

    Make sure you don’t use the term “joint custody”, which is vague and causes confusion. Say EQUAL parenting or equal shared shared parenting as per the U.S. Constitution’s principle of equal protection of the laws.
